AIA Talk 3 March: Lanny Bell on Divine Kingship in Ancient Egypt

Dr. Lanny Bell of Brown University makes his third visit to Huntsville to visit our AIA chapter. In the fall of 2000, he was our very first AIA-sponsored speaker. On Monday 3 March Dr. Bell will discuss "Mythology and Iconography of Divine Kingship in Ancient Egypt" at 7:30 PM in the Shelby Center 107. In addition to teaching at Brown, he has taught at University of Chicago and the University of Pennsylvania. During his time at Penn, he was the Field Director of the Theban Tomb Project at the New Kingdom Capital of Luxor. While at Chicago, he directed excavations working out of Chicago House also in Luxor. He retired early, and divides his time between Brown and Columbia Universities, publishing, lecturing, and leading tours in Egypt.
