Dr. Allison Thomason of Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville completed her PhD at Columbia University. She is author of Luxury and Legitimation: Royal Collecting in Ancient Mesopotamia. She will share her knowledge of women in Mesopotamian culture, showing how many women were literate and had wealth and power. In her second talk she will explore the luxurious decorations of Neo-Assyrian palaces.
