AIA Talk: Conservation at St. Catherine on Mt. Sinai -- 28 October
Dr. Roberto Nardi, Director of the Centro di Conservazione Archeologica in Rome, Italy will discuss conservation methods. The title of his talk is "The Mosaic of the Transfiguration in the Monastery of Saint Catherine in Sinai." Dr. Nardi has directed over 50 projects and training courses in 14 countries, including on the Temple of Vespasian and other sites in the Roman Forum, the Great Baths in Masada, Israel, the Roman town of Zeugma, Turkey, and the mural paintings of the Madrasa Amiriya in Yemen. His lecture is sponsored by the Samuel H. Kress Foundation and here at UAH by the Humanities Center.
